Reading Beats Harrisburg, 4-1
|
The Reading Fightin Phils topped the Harrisburg Senators, 4-1, in Eastern League action at FNB Field. The standout performance belonged to Reading pitcher and San Francisco, California, native Chris Windows. Windows went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-0. Daniel Jenney got credit for the save for Reading. It was his 1st of the year.
Mark Murphy, the 27-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Murphy contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Reading up, 1-0.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Windows told the Reading Times.
Reading goes to 2-0 with the win.
