Flying Tigers Victors, 2-1, at Brevard County
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Lakeland Flying Tigers and the Brevard County Manatees, 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dustin Gaul was the difference-maker. The Lakeland right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Gaul, now 8-4. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Jason Harris got the save, his 11th in 13 chances.
Lakeland used the hitting of Jose Delgado to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Flying Tigers on top, 2-1. For the game, Delgado had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Dustin -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Flying Tigers manager Meka Fabiano. "He was the key to us winning."
Lakeland has won 3 straight, while Brevard County has lost 4 in a row.
