The Lakeland Flying Tigers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jake Melton, who muffled the Clearwater offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Flying Tigers win at Joker Marchant Stadium. The third-place Flying Tigers have a record of 69-63.

Nick Bell aided the Lakeland cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.

Bell called the win "a collective effort."
