Ivan Gallegos was a major factor in the 8-6 Daytona win over Brevard County. The Tortugas center fielder went 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Chad Greene, now 5-3, was credited with the win. He allowed 2 runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The 4th-place Tortugas have won 4 straight.
Gallegos had a game-changing double in the top of the 11th. On a 1-0 curveball from Mike Bivona, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Tortugas a 5-4 lead. It was the 23rd double of the year for Gallegos.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Tortugas manager Justin Rollins.
