Mets Get Hard-Earned Win
The St. Lucie Mets picked up a win at Joker Marchant Stadium, knocking off the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 6-5. Starting pitcher John Rood was a big reason why. The Mets now have a mark of 102-34.

St. Lucie needed the clutch hitting of Jason Bottger to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mets on top, 5-4. For the game, Bottger had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

St. Lucie manager Felipe Guerrero was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
