Late Offense Lifts Tampa to 3-1 Victory
In a low-scoring contest, Tampa pitcher Marco Nieves was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win in 10 innings. Jeff Tinch earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-4. The Yankees go to 57-80, putting them last in the FSL North.

Tampa used the hitting of Mike Schock to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Yankees on top, 2-1. For the game, Schock had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Schock told the Tampa Herald. "But we take nothing for granted."
