The Batavia Muckdogs beat the State College Spikes, 5-4, in part because of third baseman Tony Torres. He went 4 for 4 with a triple and 3 singles. The winner was Dario Banda in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Trent Berry took the loss. Batavia goes to 2-2.

The Muckdogs got a big at-bat from center fielder Raul Vellon. For the game, Vellon was 1 for 2 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Batavia a 3-1 lead.
