Spikes Suffer 8-1 Road Loss
The Auburn Doubledays beat the State College Spikes, 8-1, at Falcon Park. Auburn second baseman Oscar Hernandez had an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win puts Auburn at 3-1.

The Spikes had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Doubledays going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old third baseman Phil Taylor came to the plate. Taylor hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 cutter from State College hurler Natik Taghiyeva. It was Taylor's 1st home run of the year.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Hernandez told the Auburn Daily. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
