Wisconsin got a first-rate effort from pitcher Josh McLaughlin, who frustrated Clinton hitters en route to a 2-1 Timber Rattlers triumph at Ashford University Field. Bill Romanelli closed out the game, earning his 1st save. With the win, Wisconsin is 3-3.

Had Brian Lombardi not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lombardi hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Timber Rattlers.

"Tough loss," said Clinton manager Bobby Mercado. "This one will sting for a while."
