Hot Rods Suffer 3-2 Setback
Starting pitcher Federico Pietramellana took care of business, helping the Great Lakes Loons stifle the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 3-2. Great Lakes reliever Erik Nasuti got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Armando Ortega was tagged with the loss. Kevin Rivas got credit for the save for Great Lakes. It was his 3rd of the year.

Great Lakes used the clutch hitting of Alex Villalpando to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Loons the lead, 3-2. For the game, Villalpando had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

Afterward, Loons manager Daniel Tolano was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."

With the win, Great Lakes elevates its record to 3-3.
