Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Lugnuts
The Lansing Lugnuts overcame a pretty good performance by Great Lakes right fielder Nick Griffin, beating the Loons, 7-6, in 11 innings. Griffin went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Andrew Wright, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. With the win, Lansing is 3-5.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ricardo Huerta in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Sal Iracheta to win the game for Lansing. The home crowd went nuts.

"It's not about individual awards," Huerta told a Lansing News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
