5-4 Win Sends Dayton to 8-2
|
The Dayton Dragons picked up a win at Dow Diamond, knocking off the Great Lakes Loons, 5-4. Starting pitcher Aaron Humphrey was a big reason why. Humphrey got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. So far, the 2108 season has been disappointing for Great Lakes, now 4-6.
Dayton relied on the hitting of Eduard Brandt to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dragons on top, 5-1. For the game, Brandt had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Aaron was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Dayton manager Jorge Rosado.
