Deppen Helps Kane County Outscore Burlington
The Kane County Cougars beat the Burlington Bees in a game in which both teams scored early and often. The final score was 12-11, Cougars. One of the hitting stars was shortstop Adam Deppen. Deppen went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The win brings the Cougars to 6-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Deppen contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Kane County in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 10-8, Deppen took a splitter from Stephon Reynolds and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Cougars to leap in front, 12-10.

"Baseball's a game where I feel like almost everything that happens is strange," said Deppen. "Maybe that's why it's such a great game."
