Cubs Earn Late 5-4 Win
The West Michigan Whitecaps could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Tim Wood into a win. Instead, the South Bend Cubs prevailed, 5-4. Wood threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The Whitecaps fall to 4-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 2110 season.

Andy Rustay hit a run-scoring triple off Juan Vence in the top of the eighth, which put the Cubs in front, 3-2. Rustay had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.

"This was a good win," said Rustay.
