Cougars Victorious at Beloit, 5-1

The Kane County Cougars rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Adan Silva to a win, beating the Beloit Snappers, 5-1, at Harry C. Pohlman Field. Silva, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Early on, the Cougars, at 10-3, have excelled.
The Cougars got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeremy Adams. For the game, Adams went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Kane County a 2-0 lead.
"Adan did a tremendous job," said Kane County manager Vince Lindsay.
