Cougars Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
Harry C. Pohlman Field hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

In a well-pitched game between the Kane County Cougars and the Beloit Snappers, pitcher Chi-ju Tze was superb. The Kane County right-hander helped his team win, 1-0. Kane County reliever Luis Alvarado picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Bill Peffer was tagged with the loss.

Luke Russell came through with a big-time hit for Kane County. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Good teams find a way to win close games," Russell said.

Kane County is off to a hot start at 11-3.
