Chiefs Win, 4-2, Versus Burlington
|
The Peoria Chiefs and Burlington Bees played an exciting game.
Burlington got a big-time effort from pitcher Carlos Miera, but it wasn't enough to keep the Peoria Chiefs from winning the game, 4-2. Miera threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Trent Berry earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. David Herrera earned the save for Peoria, his 2nd of the year.
John Bougie came through with a big-time hit for Peoria. The left fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Bougie called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Burlington drops to 7-7.
