Chiefs Hand Timber Rattlers 8-7 Loss
Peoria designated hitter Steve Byland contributed significantly to his team's 8-7 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Byland went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Chiefs. Picking up the save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Bill Cruz. With the win, Peoria is 12-2.

Corey Payne had a big run-scoring double for the Chiefs in the top of the ninth inning. With Peoria leading 7-6 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Tuomi Roine and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chiefs ahead, 8-6.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Payne.
