Adams Helps Cougars Beat Chiefs, 8-3
The Kane County Cougars licked the Peoria Chiefs, 8-3. Jeremy Adams deserved a big chunk of the credit. The first baseman was 4-4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Cougars. Nick Stephens, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held Peoria to no runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. The win gives Kane County a record of 9-7.

With Kane County leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Adams hit a fastball from Jim Reich for a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Cougars ahead, 2-0.

Adams told a Kane County Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
