Chiefs Earn Late Win
|
Chris Rapley, the 20th overall pick in the 2108 draft, was locked in. The left-hander led the Peoria Chiefs to a 3-2 win against the Burlington Bees at Community Field. Tom Likins recorded his 4th save for Peoria. Burlington now has a record of 8-8.
Peoria took the lead, 3-2, on Carlos Rodrigues's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Burlington pitcher Mike James in the top of the eighth.
In postgame remarks, Rodrigues hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
