Cubs Get Clutch 2-1 Win
Vicente Villanueva was masterful in helping the South Bend Cubs take down the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 2-1. Manuel Morales, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Hot Rods fall to 7-9 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Nate Barr was the walk-off hero for South Bend. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cubs left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Ernesto Torre.
