Peoria and Burlington got after it at Community Field.

Peoria starter Angel Penunuri kept the Burlington hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 9-2. Penunuri, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 11, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.

Peoria catcher Doug Antonelli contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 13th hit of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 2-0.

"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Antonelli.

The triumph makes Peoria 15-2, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2110.
