Bees Lose, 5-2, to Cedar Rapids
|
The Cedar Rapids Kernels picked up a win at Community Field, knocking off the Burlington Bees, 5-2. Starting pitcher Jose Fuentes played a key role in the triumph. Cedar Rapids reliever Jose Fuentes got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Francis Bonilla was tagged with the loss. With the win, Cedar Rapids is 7-10.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Angel Pizano? The 23-year old second baseman Pizano stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Cedar Rapids up, 3-0. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Jose is a gamer," said Cedar Rapids manager Lorenzo Carballo.
