Beat Goes On for Dragons, Win 8-2 Over Loons
|
The Dayton Dragons picked up a win, 8-2, over the Great Lakes Loons at Dow Diamond. Phil Young led the charge. The Sunrise Manor, Nevada native was 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for Dayton. The Dragons, now 14-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
With Dayton leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Young hit a sinker from Troy Novell for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 5-0.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Jorge Rosado.
