The Lansing Lugnuts overcame a big game from Great Lakes shortstop Dimitrie Lupan to pick up a win at Dow Diamond. The final score was 5-3, Lansing, in 10 innings. Lupan went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The loss makes Great Lakes 11-8.

Lansing used the timely hitting of Mike Harrell to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Lugnuts on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This was a tremendous character win for our team," said Lansing manager Phil Phalen.
