The Burlington Bees knocked off the Clinton LumberKings, 6-3, in Midwest League action at Ashford University Field. Burlington pitcher and Summersville, West Virginia, native Vince Beer had an outstanding performance. Beer got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Patrício Velho recorded the save, his 1st.

Burlington won the game in part because of Ricardo Negron. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Bees ahead, 2-0. For the game, Negron had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.

"Vince did a good job of managing their lineup," said Burlington manager Brian Zimmerman.

The LumberKings fall to 9-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2114 season.
