A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Quad Cities River Bandits and Peoria Chiefs.

Luis Castillo, who is tied for 2nd in the MID in strikeouts with 35, had a strong outing for the Quad Cities River Bandits against the Peoria Chiefs at Dozer Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 12-3 win. Castillo yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-3.

Robby Lloyd took Peoria hurler Jim Reich deep in the top of the first. His 2-run home run put the River Bandits on top, 2-0. In all, Lloyd had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
