Bees Get Close Win Over Cougars, 5-4
|
Led by 21-year-old Bobby Canales, the Burlington Bees knocked off the Kane County Cougars, 5-4. Canales went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Bees. Burlington reliever Mike James was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Brandon Archer took the loss. Burlington is now 10-11.
Had Canales not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Canales hit a run-scoring single. The Bees took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
Burlington manager Brian Zimmerman praised his team's "businesslike approach."
