The Great Lakes Loons weathered an outstanding game by Lansing right fielder Paul Sirois to topple the Lugnuts, 6-3. Sirois was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Great Lakes reliever Matthew Conway picked up the win to move to 1-0. Rodrigo Valladares suffered the loss. Pat Beavers collected his 1st save.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Josh Parham? The Great Lakes right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Loons on top, 3-1. For the game, Parham had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Parham told the Great Lakes Daily News.

Lansing falls to 13-9.
