Late Magic Gets Dayton 5-4 Win
The Dayton Dragons took Bowling Green pitcher Jesse Aguiar's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Fifth Third Field. The final score had Dayton getting past the Hot Rods, 5-4. Aguiar went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 3. The winner in relief was Rich Chene. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-2. The win gives Dayton a record of 7-16.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Dragons sent 22-year-old first baseman Josh Southerland to the plate with a runner on 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Dayton on top, 5-4.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Southerland.
