Lugnuts Best Dragons in Pitching Duel
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Lansing Lugnuts and the Dayton Dragons. Lansing won it, 2-1. Lansing starter Heriberto Mireles was in command. August Wichsberger came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Picking up the save was Aaron Crum, his 4th.
Danny Crane, the 22-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Crane contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the seventh inning to put Lansing up, 2-1.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Dayton manager Joel Bachman.
The loss drops Dayton to 10-14.
