Cubs Knock Off Bees, 7-3
|
The South Bend Cubs defeated the Burlington Bees, 7-3, in Midwest League action at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium. South Bend pitcher John Williams had a standout performance. Williams picked up the win for South Bend, going 5 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. South Bend is now 15-10.
Brian Buell hit a 2-run double off Carlos Miera in the bottom of the second, which put the Cubs in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Buell had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
