Burlington starter Justin Miller pitched effectively against the Fort Wayne TinCaps at Community Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Miller, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. Burlington is now 13-12.

The Bees benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the third. With Bobby Canales at bat and Burlington leading 2-1, the Fort Wayne miscue allowed Burlington to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.

In comments to the Burlington Times, Miller insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
