Bees Lose, 6-5, in 10
|
Burlington got a terrific game from center fielder Ryan Bennett. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to South Bend, 6-5, in 10 innings. Bennett was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Jose Camacho in relief. His record improves to 2-3. David Ferber took the loss. South Bend now has a record of 16-10.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when South Bend center fielder Brian Buell, facing David Ferber, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cubs the 6-5 win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said South Bend manager Roy Ofstad.
