Whitecaps Topple Bees with Late Rally
The West Michigan Whitecaps faced a tough opponent in Burlington pitcher Erik Neu, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Community Field by a final score of 10-7. Neu went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Alex Santiago, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 3.1 innings. With the loss, Burlington is 9-17.

West Michigan used the clutch hitting of Jeff Gibbs to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Whitecaps the lead, 9-7. For the game, Gibbs had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Gibbs said.
