Whitecaps Make River Bandits 7-3 Losers
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits got a superb performance from pitcher Chris Kleinhesselink, but the West Michigan Whitecaps still won the game, 7-3. Kleinhesselink came in in relief and pitched to 28 batters. Mike Arevalo picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-0. The loss puts Quad Cities at 15-13.
Alberto Servantez, who is tied for 8th in the MID in home runs with 4, aided the West Michigan cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the first. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Servantez told the West Michigan Gazette.
