Chiefs Deal Cubs 7-3 Setback
Steve Waldrop was locked in. The right-hander led the Peoria Chiefs to a 7-3 win against the South Bend Cubs at Dozer Park. Peoria reliever Ken Burden picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Johnny Morell absorbed the loss. The win puts the Chiefs at 17-14, while the Cubs drop to 14-17.

Tony Ojeda's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 1-1. The Peoria left fielder hit a run-scoring single off Johnny Morell to put the Chiefs up.

Ojeda attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
