Beloit Sent Home with 1-0 Loss
|
Parkview Field was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Fort Wayne TinCaps beat the Beloit Snappers, 1-0. Fort Wayne pitcher and Casas Adobes, Arizona, native Bill Pugh led the way. The TinCaps sport a record of 13-19.
In the bottom of the first, Joe Monroe delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Fort Wayne third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the TinCaps in front, 1-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Fort Wayne manager Justin Rand said.
