In a tight contest between the Lansing Lugnuts and the Clinton LumberKings, Chris Mullins was the determining factor. The Lansing right-hander sparkled in his team's 1-0 win. The win puts the Lugnuts at 14-20, while the LumberKings drop to 17-17.

The Lugnuts got a clutch hit from first baseman Jason Walters. In the bottom of the ninth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Lugnuts.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Mullins. "Successful pitchers do it."
