The Lansing Lugnuts picked up a win at Cooley Law School Stadium, courtesy of Jason Clark. The right-hander helped his team stop the Kane County Cougars, 3-2. Clark yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-5. Andrew Wright closed it out for Lansing, earning his 2nd save.
Had Matt Fairley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Fairley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Lugnuts.
"Jason is good at sticking to his strengths," said Lansing manager Phil Phalen.
The Lugnuts raised their record to 14-21.
