Witmer Lifts Snappers to 12-3 Triumph
|
The Beloit Snappers easily defeated the Dayton Dragons, 12-3, at Fifth Third Field, with left fielder Steve Witmer a main contributor to the win. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for Beloit. Justin Jacobson, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held Dayton to no runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The Snappers' win now puts them at 20-15.
In the top of the fourth, with the game still scoreless, Witmer hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Witmer said after the game.
