The Great Lakes Loons and Burlington Bees squared off at Community Field.

The Great Lakes Loons overcame a pretty good performance by Burlington second baseman Francisco Galdamez, beating the Bees, 11-3, at Community Field. Galdamez was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The second-place Loons sport a record of 23-13.

Jonathan Covas had a big 2-run double for the Loons in the top of the third inning. With Great Lakes leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Mitch Jarrell and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Loons ahead, 5-2.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Covas.
