Hot Rods Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Loons
|
The Great Lakes Loons picked up a win at Bowling Green Ballpark, downing the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 4-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Great Lakes was left-hander Felix Ramos, who played a pivotal role in the win. Seth Kaderly earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. Eric Schmidt nailed down the save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Juan Sanchez? The 25-year old right fielder Sanchez stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Great Lakes up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Felix's as tough as he is talented," said Great Lakes manager Ivan Cruz.
Great Lakes is now 22-16, while Bowling Green is 16-22.
