Dragons Win, 3-2, at Great Lakes
|
The Dayton Dragons did just enough to sneak past the Great Lakes Loons, 3-2, at Dow Diamond. Dayton pitcher Seth Jinks, in particular, had a standout performance. The Dragons saw their win-loss record go to 16-22. At the same time, the Loons fell to 26-12.
Dayton used the clutch hitting of Ray Bennett to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Dragons the lead, 3-0. For the game, Bennett had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Jinks told a Dayton Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
