Timber Rattlers Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers downed the Peoria Chiefs, 3-1, at Neuroscience Feild at Fox Cities Stadium. Stellar pitching by Meiver Koeppel had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the MID with a 11.4 K/9 rate, handcuffed his opponent all game. Koeppel picked up the win for Wisconsin, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0. The 5th-place Chiefs dropped to 17-21.
The Timber Rattlers had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Wisconsin, with no one out. Peoria, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Mike Coffin dug in at the plate, but on a full count fastball, he hit into a double play.
