Shuman Powers River Bandits to 10-3 Win
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits topped the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 10-3, with third baseman Cody Shuman playing a big role. Shuman was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the River Bandits in the win. Dan Fagan earned the win for Quad Cities. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Sung-hyun Park earned the save for Quad Cities, his 1st.
Chad Erickson, who leads the MID in home runs with 11, chipped in for Quad Cities with a run-scoring single in the top of the second. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said River Bandits manager Rich Mejia.
