Captains Handle TinCaps, 6-1
|
The Lake County Captains picked up a win at Classic Park, knocking off the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 6-1. Starting pitcher Morgan Dunphy was a big reason why. Dunphy picked up the win for Lake County, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The third-place Captains improved to 22-17.
Eric Walsh had a big 2-run double for the Captains in the bottom of the second inning. With Lake County leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Ian Lancaster and swatted a double to right. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 4-0.
"I had everything working," said Dunphy.
