The Quad Cities River Bandits picked up a win at Modern Woodmen Park, knocking off the Peoria Chiefs, 3-1. Starting pitcher Joseph Fisher played a key role in the triumph. Fisher got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Fisher allowed 1 run. Quad Cities is now riding a 5-game win streak.
The River Bandits got a lift from right fielder Evan White, who in the bottom of the third stroked a 1-0 fastball into center for a 2-run single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the River Bandits ahead, 2-1.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Fisher said.
