Starting pitcher Carlos Miera was a major factor in the 3-1 Burlington Bees triumph over the Clinton LumberKings. Rodrigo Santiago recorded the save for Burlington, his 2nd of the season. Burlington, at 19-21, sits in second place in the Western Division.
Burlington took a 3-1 lead on Alex Villarreal's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Villarreal hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Clinton pitcher Ricardo Cruz visibly frustrated.
"We busted our tails," said Clinton manager Jose Ursua. "But we came up short."
