Alfredo Romero played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Beloit Snappers win against the Burlington Bees. Mike Zadrozny collected his 7th save. The Snappers, at 18-24, inhabit 7th place in the Western Division.

Juan Vargas drove in one run for Beloit. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Justin Miller. It was his 12th RBI of the season.

"I was able to miss barrels for the most part and the guys behind me made plays," said Romero.
