Montgomery, Lansing Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
In a low-scoring affair between the Lansing Lugnuts and the Bowling Green Hot Rods, pitcher Josh Montgomery was the difference between victory and defeat. The Lansing right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Lugnuts win. The save went to Aaron Crum, his 9th this season. The third-place Lugnuts have won 5 straight.

The Lugnuts liked what they saw from Montgomery. The 22-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Hot Rods to no runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings, and striking out 6.

"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Lansing manager Osamu Nakao.
