Dragons Come Back Late to Top Lugnuts, 3-2
|
The Lansing Lugnuts could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Luis Rodas into a win. Instead, the Dayton Dragons prevailed, 3-2. Rodas came in in relief and pitched to 23 batters. Jimmy Amaral earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Rocco Barry recorded the save, his 2nd.
Brad Snow provided a timely hit. The Dayton pinch hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dragons on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Dayton manager Jorge Rosado. "It's usually not just one thing."
The first-place Dragons improved to 28-15.
