Timber Rattlers Dismiss River Bandits, 4-2
|
Starting pitcher Jake Melton had a solid game. He was a big reason the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers throttled the Quad Cities River Bandits, 4-2. Melton yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1. Yukinobu Kanno picked up his 8th save of the season.
Mike Burns had a direct impact on the outcome. Burns contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Wisconsin up, 2-0.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Quad Cities manager Maxwell Judson.
The 5th-place Timber Rattlers are now 23-21, the River Bandits 14-30.
