Bees Do In Kernels, 6-1
|
The Burlington Bees got a strong performance from pitcher Andrew Williams, who stymied the Cedar Rapids offense en route to a win, 6-1, at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Bees improved their record to 21-24 with the win over Cedar Rapids.
Burlington used the hitting of Aaron Wanner to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bees on top, 6-0. For the game, Wanner had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Cedar Rapids manager Chris Glasspoole.
